QR Codes / 2D Barcodes - What are they?
With the explosion of iPhones and Android smart phones, the need for quick accessible information has never been greater.
QR codes (abrreviated from "Quick Response" code) or 2D (dimension) barcodes now exist to redirect the user, quickly and easily to a web address of their chosing. They look like the image below :

How do they work?
Firstly the user needs to download a QR scannng "app" for their iPhone or Android phone (just put the search term QR reader into the appstore). There are many free ones to chose from. Once downloaded you simply activate the app, hold your phone over the code and it will simply redirect the user to the web page that the QR code was progammed for. This QR code goes to our sister website www.businessworldservices.co.uk
The uses of QR codes are limitless. Food retailers are starting to add QR codes to their packaging to give receipe advice, business executives are adding the QR codes to business cards and flyers to encourage the customer to navigate directly to their website, and corporate customers are looking seriously at QR codes to generate discount incentives for their customers. Why? It's all because it's quick and it's easy.
At www.digital-printing-online.co.uk we have our own bespoke QR code generator software so our customers can easily add a QR code to any of their digitally printed products.
